Collagen is a huge protein found in large quantities in our skin, bones and cartilage. We can also obtain it from animal skins, bones and cartilage (e.g. from broth or aspic), but in this form it is difficult to digest. During digestion, it breaks down into smaller parts – peptides and amino acids, which are then absorbed into the blood so they can act in the skin and joints.
The collagen in our product is already broken down into peptides (hydrolysed bovine collagen), meaning it is excellently absorbed and does not burden digestion. This collagen helps to maintain youthful skin elasticity and the proper functioning and mobility of joints.
The effects on skin and joints have only been confirmed when taking collagen peptides, not when consuming regular (unprocessed) collagen from food. (However, it is important to add that according to some experts, such collagen has a positive effect on the stomach and intestinal lining.)
