Hawthorn leaf and flower tea (Crataegi folium cum flore) has long been known as A strengthening and calming agent for the heart. It can improve blood supply to the heart muscle, widen blood vessels, contribute to lowering blood pressure, alleviate circulatory problems and reduce the risk of arteriosclerosis.
Recommended use: For coronary artery disease, age-related heart conditions, to alleviate dizziness, anxiety, palpitations, and shortness of breath, to relieve stress, calm, and promote sleep, during the menopause to alleviate mood swings and hot flashes.
Preparation: 1 level tablespoon (3 g) of herbs pour over with 2.5 dl boiling water. Let infuse for 15 minutes and then strain. Do not use a metal sieve.
Dosage: 1–2 cups daily, taken as a decoction, before meals, preferably unflavoured. For calming: in the evening before bed, for detoxification: throughout the day. For prevention, 1 cup weekly is sufficient.
Contraindications: Not suitable for children under 12.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry place, out of reach of children. Reseal well after opening.
