Elderflower is a dried herb intended for preparing herbal tea. In traditional herbalism, elderflower infusion is used as part of a fluid intake regimen, especially during periods of increased bodily strain. Elderflower tea is popular in folk tradition for its diaphoretic properties and mild character. It is also traditionally used as part of a balanced lifestyle. The tea's flavour can be adjusted by adding honey or rosehip syrup.
Application: The infusion is prepared from two teaspoons of dried herb (approximately 3–4 g), which are infused with 1.5 dl of boiling water and left to steep for approximately 10 minutes. The recommended amount of dried herb per day is 10–15 g.
Warning: Herbal tea does not replace a varied and balanced diet or a healthy lifestyle. It is not intended for children under 3 years of age. Keep out of reach of small children. Store in a dry and dark place.
