Tea tree oil is among the most effective natural disinfecting essences. It supports healthy skin function, reduces inflammation, soothes irritation, and also repels insects that are unpleasant to humans. The effects of tea tree oil are mainly due to its high content of natural active ingredients, primarily terpinen-4-ol. MediNatural Australian tea tree oil contains at least 44 % terpenes, which guarantees its high quality and strength.

Much like lavender oil, tea tree oil is one of the few essential oils that can be applied undiluted directly to the skin, but open local, for example, insect bites, acne or warts. For larger skin areas, it needs to be diluted with vegetable oil. It can be used as part of disinfectant solutions for mouth ulcers and gum inflammation, for oily and problem skin, for fungal infections on hands and feet, for scalp care prone to dandruff, as well as for various respiratory problems.

Tea tree oil is recommended for diffusion, refreshing spaces, aromatic baths, for foot care prone to mycosis, for foot baths, for oily and dull hair, for minor abrasions, acne, and itching caused by insect bites. When caring for the skin, it is necessary to dilute it with a MediNatural plant-based care oil, such as almond or jojoba oil. It is suitable for oily, acne-prone, seborrhoeic skin, for scalps that quickly become oily or are irritated, and is also effective against fungal nail and skin infections.

Tea tree oil is also effective in treating acne. Simply apply one drop of oil to a cotton bud and dab it onto inflamed pimples. Its disinfecting and anti-inflammatory properties speed up healing. For foot care prone to fungal infections, a bath is recommended: add 10–20 drops of oil to a tablespoon of salt, dissolve in 2–3 litres of warm water, and soak your feet for 15–20 minutes. The bath refreshes, disinfects, soothes the skin, and reduces foot odour. For abrasions, eczema, or itching after insect bites, it is recommended to mix 1 teaspoon of almond oil with 1–3 drops of tea tree oil and gently massage into the skin.

When caring for hair and scalp, tea tree oil promotes blood circulation, reduces oily hair and dandruff. Add a few drops of tea tree oil to a teaspoon of vegetable oil, massage into the scalp, leave for 15 minutes, and then wash your hair, for example, with a tea tree oil shampoo. It is recommended to repeat the treatment twice a week. For warts and cold sores, its antiviral effects help – 2–3 drops on a cotton pad, apply to the affected area for 10 minutes and repeat 2–3 times a day, or leave on overnight under a plaster.

When it comes to respiratory illnesses, tea tree oil is an excellent aid. A few drops in a diffuser can help with colds, a blocked nose, and general chills. Thanks to its antibacterial and antiviral properties, it purifies the air and makes breathing easier. Tea tree oil is also an effective natural insect repellent – it repels mosquitoes, ticks, ants, bedbugs, and moths. It can be applied to clothing, and around the home, it's recommended to place cotton pads soaked in the oil where insects are present, wash floors with water containing tea tree oil, or wipe down cupboards.

Tea tree oil is an excellent all-purpose cleaner. It is suitable for disinfecting kitchen and bathroom surfaces, can be added to mop water or to the fabric softener compartment of a washing machine. It removes unpleasant odours, prevents the multiplication of bacteria, and in combination with vinegar, it effectively combats mould. For cleaning the bath, sink, or toilet, 3-5 drops of the oil per litre of water are sufficient, or it can be mixed with alcohol for better dispersion.

The scent of tea tree oil is fresh, spicy-woody, and penetrating. It's a typical heady scent. It is obtained by low-temperature steam distillation from leaves. Country of origin is Australia.
