Solio cold-pressed maize germ oil is a pleasant-tasting and aromatic vegetable oil with a wide range of uses in the kitchen. Its fatty acid composition is nutritionally valuable. The content of essential fatty acids is approximately 50–60 %, and the oil also naturally contains sterols and tocopherols.

The high content of tocopherols, which have antioxidant properties, contributes to the oil’s stability. Thanks to its composition, it is suitable for everyday use in the preparation of both cold and hot dishes.

Method of production: A large proportion of the seeds are hulled before processing and are processed as clean kernels. As a result, the oil obtained is of high purity and has a natural flavour and aroma characteristic of the raw material used, without any undesirable off-flavours. In cold pressing, the oil is extracted from the seeds by mechanical pressing at a pressure of approximately 120 atm. This gentle processing method helps to preserve the oil’s naturally occurring components.

The pressed oil is channelled into sealed stainless steel tanks and then passes through a sealed stainless steel system, which protects it from external contamination. Careful selection of raw materials and double mechanical filtration of the oil ensure its high quality. The finished oil is stored away from light and air until bottling. No chemicals, additives or colourings are used in the production process.
