Acacia honey is among the rarest and most sought-after types of honey. It is characterised by its crystal-clear, pale yellow to slightly greenish colour, the pleasant scent of acacia blossoms, and a delicate sweet taste. Thanks to its high fructose content, it is among the honeys that crystallise the slowest, and therefore remains liquid for a long time.
Acacia honey is the pride of Hungarian beekeeping and has been classified as a Hungarian national value – Hungarikum – since 2014.

What is honeycomb mead?
Honeycomb honey is honey stored and sold directly in the honeycomb as it was created by the bees. The comb is made of natural beeswax with hexagonal cells, in which the bees store mature honey. The cells are then sealed with a thin layer of wax.
All parts of the honeycomb are edible, including the wax. Some consumers spit the wax out after chewing, while others swallow it without any issues.
Honeycomb honey quality
Top quality comb honey comes from newly built combs with regular cells, free from pollen or brood cells. The honey is light in colour and the cells are capped with clean, light beeswax cappings.
How to consume
Honeycomb is ideal as a luxurious dessert or a natural sweet treat. It can be served cut into small cubes or the honey can be spooned directly from the comb.
It suits perfectly:
- for standalone consumption,
- with cheese,
- for pastries,
- in tea,
- as part of festive and gift packaging.
